Why are you interested in attending this event? What are you interested in building with AI? (1000 character maximum)
In today’s world technology is changing at a rapid pace, if someone had told me I could click a button and have my computer analyze my email and type up a response in under 10 seconds I would have scoffed and put this concept up next to the flying car. I am interested in attending this event because as we all know that this is no longer the case, AI isn’t some fantasy, the world around us is changing in real time and to better understand how the technology works I want to meet people who are experienced in this field and learn from them. Along with learning from others I want to share my own experience this summer. I had the opportunity to work with Cohere this summer who are also in the space of Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. I believe my experience of working at a startup ML company would provide value to other people. I have not yet decided what I am going to build but I want to make something that provides value to people and has an impact on the world.
Although Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technology have advanced in such a short amount of time with new releases such as GPT-4, I believe that this is just the beginning of what’s in store for us, and failure to incorporate these technologies could over time result in a competitive disadvantage in certain fields. I have not yet thought of exactly what I am going to build with AI but I am interested in making something that will expand my knowledge on how AI exactly works. I also want to try out the products of all the corporations sponsoring this event to see the different use cases of AI and how with a little bit of creativity I can make something that I can integrate into my everyday lifestyle.

The idea of a mere button press resulting in my computer analyzing emails and crafting responses within seconds used to be a far-fetched notion akin to flying cars. Yet, times have changed, and the realm of AI has transcended the realm of fantasy. We bear witness to a transformative era, and I am enthusiastic about gaining a deeper understanding of this remarkable technology. Participating in this event will enable me to connect with seasoned professionals in the field, learning from their expertise.
This summer, I have the privilege of working for Cohere, a startup dedicated to Natural Language Processing. I am confident that my industry experience holds value for others. I am fueled by the desire to create something of substantial significance, positively impacting our world. Joining this vibrant community fills me with excitement, as I eagerly anticipate contributing to the advancement of AI.
