Startups take off because the founders make them take off
Unscalable things founders have to do:
- Recruit users manually, you can’t wait for users to come to you
- Good example is stripe, they had urgency to get their products to their users (eg. if someone said they’d try out stripe they’d just take the user’s laptop and set them up lol)
- For a startup to succeed at least one founder (usually the CEO) will have to spend a lot of time on sales and marketing
- The absolute numbers seem too small
