fail
- To prove deficient or lacking; perform ineffectively or inadequately
- To be unsuccessful.
- To be unsuccessful in being acted upon.
If failing what defines someone to be a failure, I am the biggest failure out there
I have failed countless times, ranging from times where I never thought I would fail to times where failure it looked like failure was inevitable
Failing hurts, it stings. It’s not the expected outcome but sometimes its the thing you need giving you a reality check to do better
I think everybody’s a failure. Nobody’s perfect, given enough information about a person I guarantee I can portray them as a failure through one of their shortcomings.
If everyone’s a failure then why are people so scared of failing
At University of Waterloo I’ve noticed that lots of people are scared of Failure, that label being put on them, other people knowing of their shortcoming
I understand that not everyone has the same risk tolerance and my tendencies to make riskier decisions may be the reason why I am more comfortable with failure
However I think the underlying cause is that some people have never failed in their life before, or at least failed to a degree where they have to start from scratch or it leaves them in a position which is “worse” than the one they started in
To anyone reading this I want you to think what’s the fun in having a predictable outcome, take more risk & try new things. The people who you look up to right now aren’t the type of people who are comfortably taking a co-op at big tech or only focusing on school because they value grades
They’re the people who are going out of their comfort zones experimenting with life getting unique experiences and finding what works best for them
Have self belief, a success story is only an interesting story if there’s failures leading up to them. Nobody who I’ve met and considered to be successful has had a straight forward path, there’s 100s of failures for every major success
It’s ok to be scared or doubtful, it wouldn’t be much of a risk worth taking if the answer was obvious. Believe in yourself and anything is possible
