If you could have any superpower to help you during Hack Western, what would it be and why? (30 to 150 words)
If I could have any superpower it’d be to turn water into hot coffee. I am not a huge coffee drinker but during a hackathon caffeine is essential and by having the ability to turn water into coffee I could start a business where I sell a cup of coffee for a dollar. This would net me a lot of money which I could use to fund my side projects.
If you could build your own dream destination what would it look like? Be as detailed and creative as you want! (30 to 150 words)
I LOVE CARS! I own a MX-5 Miata and love to modify it and drive it for fun. My dream destination would be a place with a lot of mountains and curvy roads, a drag strip to test the top speed of the cars, and rocky trails where I could drive big jeeps. The roads would always be in optimal condition, the weather would always be sunny but it wouldn’t be too hot or too cold, and all my cars would have unlimited fuel. I’d take the Lamborghini Murcielago to drive in the mountains with a modified exhaust to hear that V12 scream, a Jeep with huge tires to take off roading, and a Koenigsegg Agera for top speed run. I love cars and that’d be my dream destination.
What project (anything you have ever worked on not just restricted to tech) of yours are you the most proud of and why? What did you learn throughout the process? (30 to 150 words)
This is a fun project I did (not all my projects are this silly), for Hack the North I made an Aura Tracker. Aura is essentially social credit representing how funny / cringey your actions are. The higher aura you have the better you are perceived in society. I used GPT-4o to generate examples of things that may be positive aura and negative aura using prompt engineering pattern recognition. Once I had 100 examples of what I consider to be “positive aura” and “negative aura” I used KMeans clustering algorithm to cluster similar positive and negative aura statements together. From there whenever a user spoke it broke their speech down into 3 second clips and using my algorithm determined whether what they said is positive or negative aura and appropriately assigned aura points. I learned how to use KMeans clustering algorithm and I am most proud because this project made a lot of people laugh.
